Jimmie Sheffield - Pastor

What a joy and privilege to serve as interim pastor for Lonoke Baptist Church! I have the privilege of leading this great church during the interim while the church participates in the Intentional Interim Ministry process.

This process is a great journey which includes a self study by examining five focus points: history, mission, leadership, connections and the future.

As you think about and pray about a church home, you will find Lonoke Baptist Church to be a wonderful fellowship of believers that sincerely want to follow God’s will. The members are friendly and very compassionate as they minister to each other and to the community. What a joy and privilege to serve as the associate pastor for Lonoke Baptist Church! It has been such a blessing to serve here for sixteen years. I believe that we have the greatest church that can be found anywhere. Our church has such a heart for ministry. My areas of responsibility for our church include serving as worship leader and minister of senior adults.

Worship is such a vital part of our lives. We were made to worship our Lord. It is my goal to make you feel comfortable and to see God in a light that you may have never experienced before. It is my prayer that when you leave our services, you will know you have been in the very presence of God.

I love seniors. They have such wisdom and experience. It is my goal that each of them feel special, that they still see the need to serve their Lord, and to minister to them as they have special needs and problems. They have left us a great legacy and we must be careful to never forget them...even when they can no longer attend our church because of health related issues.

I have been married to my God sent wife, the former Sally Baxley, for 39 years. I have two children, Shelly Allen, married to John Allen, from Prattsville, and Danny J. Loretz, Jr. from Conway. I also have three precious grandchildren, Alaina, Grayson, and Thatcher Allen.

My ministry here at Lonoke Baptist Church has been very rewarding and fulfilling. When God led me to this job back in 1993 I was thankful for the opportunity to help serve here at the church.

I have been overly blessed by the love and support of the members. I not only get the opportunity to see the mountain top, joyful experiences of the church family, but I also get to witness how faith can grow through individual trials as God carries them through.
